The Role

The role will entail conducting research and development projects within the following areas:

  • Polymorphism screening
  • Salt screening
  • Cocrystal screening
  • Pre-formulation evaluation/ solid form selection
  • Crystallisation development to design processes suitable for clinical manufacture within a cGMP environment at scale

The role will also involve:

  • Collaborating with colleagues across chemistry development, process chemistry, analytical science and manufacturing to ensure seamless project delivery from lab to 50L scale.
  • Solid form characterisation and data interpretation using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment (XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS, microscopy, NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, etc.).
  • Contributing to client discussions, technical reports and project presentations.
  • Ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensuring standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
  • Demonstrating good safety awareness, completion of COSHH assessments.

About You

We are looking for a driven scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will have:

  • A PhD in Chemistry or a related field (essential).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the creativity to overcome scientific challenges.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of solid form characterisation and development would be an advantage.
  • Strong time management including a good understanding of project schedules, commercial direction and departmental goals.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, showing resourcefulness and reliability
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, conscientious and proactive in approach
