The Role
The role will entail conducting research and development projects within the following areas:
- Polymorphism screening
- Salt screening
- Cocrystal screening
- Pre-formulation evaluation/ solid form selection
- Crystallisation development to design processes suitable for clinical manufacture within a cGMP environment at scale
The role will also involve:
- Collaborating with colleagues across chemistry development, process chemistry, analytical science and manufacturing to ensure seamless project delivery from lab to 50L scale.
- Solid form characterisation and data interpretation using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment (XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS, microscopy, NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, etc.).
- Contributing to client discussions, technical reports and project presentations.
- Ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
- Demonstrating good safety awareness, completion of COSHH assessments.
About You
We are looking for a driven scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will have:
- A PhD in Chemistry or a related field (essential).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the creativity to overcome scientific challenges.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience of solid form characterisation and development would be an advantage.
- Strong time management including a good understanding of project schedules, commercial direction and departmental goals.
- Work effectively as part of a team, showing resourcefulness and reliability
- Enthusiastic, flexible, conscientious and proactive in approach
