Bribery and Corruption:

In accordance with our Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy, we prohibit corruption in all its forms, including bribery, extortion, fraud, embezzlement, money laundering and facilitation payments. Gifts and hospitality are not accepted if they are in any way thought or perceived to be in return for either doing/not doing something or showing favour/disfavour to a person or organisation.

Conflicts of Interest:

Conflicts of interest and/or the appearance of a conflict of interest are actively avoided. Potential financial or non-financial conflicts of interest should be declared and are reviewed on a case-by-case base to determine and implement an appropriate course of action.

Ethical Conduct:

We always act with the utmost integrity and comply with all relevant legislation, anti-competitive practices including market-sharing, price-fixing, non-respect of confidentiality agreements, industrial espionage and abuse of dominant position are prohibited.

Tax:

We are committed to being a responsible and compliant taxpayer in the UK and we do this through robust governance, not engaging in tax avoidance and being transparent in our relationship with the tax office. Details can be found in our Anti-Facilitation and Tax Evasion Policy.

Whistleblowing:

We require all colleagues to maintain high standards of conduct. We encourage colleagues to report suspected wrongdoing as soon as possible in the knowledge that their concerns will be taken seriously and investigated as appropriate, and that their confidentiality will be respected. See our Whistleblowing Policy.

Ecology and Footprint:

We are committed to reducing our environmental impacts, notably those associated with energy use and reducing water use and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods. As an operator within the chemical sector, we constantly endeavour to reduce our waste streams generated by our core business through the application of process optimisation. Our goal is to continually improve the process mass efficiency of all projects undertaken. We also support a safe and clean local environment through the actions of our litter picking and recycling team (see also Communities).

Energy and Climate Change:

Effective process optimisation demands a reduction in consumable raw materials, waste streams, and energy consumption. As a company we do not limit our activity to this alone. All aspects of our activities, from supply chain to technology and investment, impact upon our carbon footprint. We are committed to, where possible, preferentially opting for energy efficient operational choices, from suppliers to efficient infrastructure. We are committed to becoming carbon neutral throughout our operations and not simply by offsetting carbon by plantation activities.

Sustainable and Quality Products:

In line with our commitment to working with ethical suppliers, we are committed to sourcing raw materials, consumables and technology that have the capacity to be onboarded without unnecessary travel (remote installation) and can be recycled. These commitments help to reduce the impact of the products that we produce.

Health and Safety:

We regard the management of health and safety as an integral part of our business and a management priority. In line with our Health and Safety Policy, all activities and work will be carried out in a safe manner, in compliance with all applicable health and safety laws and regulations and we will ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees and others who may be affected by our activities.

Wellbeing and Our People:

We recognise the value of flexible working for our employees, and commit to careful consideration of all flexible working requests in line with our Flexible Working Policy. Our commitment to social inclusion and awareness of staff requirements outside of mainstream professional development is supported by our various committees that are inclusive of all roles within the company. Examples are the Mental Health committee and Mental Health first aid team.

Flexible Working:

We recognise the value of flexible working for our employees, and commit to careful consideration of all flexible working requests in line with our Flexible Working Policy.

Management and Empowerment:

In accordance with our Equal Opportunities Policy, we are committed to promoting a working environment where everyone feels respected and supported to reach their full potential. We provide equal opportunities in relation to all aspects of employment and work conditions. Discrimination, in all forms is prohibited. Our work and reputation is built by the strength and motivation of our team, and supported by our core company values at all levels.

Human Rights:

We respect human rights and operate in accordance with the fundamental rights set out in the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. This includes upholding freedom of association and collective bargaining, not using forced or child labour, and eliminating discrimination.

Labour Standards:

We pay equal and fair remuneration, including company bonuses linked to performance. Employees are not expected to work more than 48 hours a week, receive far in excess of the ILO recommended paid holiday and we do not operate zero hours contracts.

Modern Slavery:

We are absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations and in our supply chains. This commitment is emphasised in our company policies. We also expect the same high standards which we set for ourselves from those parties with whom we engage, such as our suppliers and customers.

Communities:

We strive to positively contribute to our local community, engaging and supporting local charities, schools, youth groups and colleges, including helping to maintain the cleanliness of local byways, footpaths and cycleways for the community and wildlife.

Responsible Sourcing:

We expect the highest standards of business ethics from suppliers and their agents in the supply of goods and services. We strive to work with our suppliers to seek and implement flexible and innovative ways to achieve our environmental, social, ethical and economic objectives.

Innovation and Technology:

Process optimisation is at the core of our business. This encompasses all operations from the office, to laboratory, to warehousing and storage and recycling and waste disposal. Our goal is to constantly review and innovate the ways in which we operate, from the sourcing of new technology to make core business and energy consumption less impactful, including site building, renovation and process design. The processes we pass onwards are better by design and scalable, and the sites from which they emerge are similarly fit for a sustainable future.

Quality Assurance:

We adhere to the highest standards of quality and patient safety in all aspects of our laboratory, development, and manufacturing operations. Our Quality Management System guides our quality assurance work and is supported by an internal audit program that monitors compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and policies.
